Introduction of the Black History Tour of Atlanta - We begin our tour on Auburn Ave. at the Historic Bank, Church and Apex Museum. The Tour Guide will provide information about the history of Auburn Ave and the surrounding buildings. We stop at the APEX museum. After the visit at the Museum, we continue down Auburn Ave to the King Center. You and your guests will be allowed to visit the King Center, Ebenezer Baptist Church and MLK's birth home. If time permits on the basic tour we will continue on to historic Inman Park. Longer tours are available and are listed below with additional information. If time allows on the 4 or 5 hour tour then the group would visit the University Center which includes the colleges: Spellman, Clark, and Morehouse The rates for the tour will depend on the vehicle requested as well as the number of people. Charges that will apply are: Charter rates for vehicle, Tour guide and Admission charges for locations per person. Details of the Black History Tour of Atlanta This tour is like no other. Visit the legendary city where Civil Rights leaders moved forward with their vision for a new South. Today Atlanta is a thriving cosmopolitan city, both economically and culturally. Atlanta gives people a sense of how life has evolved from the days of slavery, to segregation, to the world we know today. Basic 3 hour Black History Tour Visit the Sweet Auburn Area the birth place of Martin Luther King JR. and learn of the history from the time of slavery through the Civil Rights Movement to the present day. |
